Why it Works

Curls are the hair type that suffers most from a harsh shampoo: they dry out, open up and frizz. Curl Bath cleans with mild, naturally derived coconut cleansers that respect the curl's hydration.

It contains inulin, a plant-based prebiotic that softens hair, argan oil to nourish, and flaxseed extract, the same ingredient many people with curls use to make their own DIY gel, because it helps define curls. Aloe vera, coconut and grape complete the formula. No silicones, no parabens and no mineral oils.

Aroma

Fresh and light, with soft floral notes.

Our Ingredients

At NUDA, every ingredient has a reason to be there. We source from Northern European ecosystems, where nature works harder, and so do we. No fillers, no shortcuts. Just pure, active ingredients that your hair can actually feel.

Most of our formulas are certified by ECOCERT under the COSMOS standard. Each product page states whether that product carries the seal, and every page publishes the full INCI list.

Nothing to hide. Everything to give.

Questions about this product

Is it suitable for the curly girl method?
Yes. It contains no silicones, waxes or mineral oils, which is what the method asks for.
Is it vegan?
Yes, it contains no animal-derived ingredients.
Is it certified organic?
No. This formula is not certified. You can read the full ingredient list on this page.
What should I use after it?
Curl Balm as a conditioner, mask or leave-in, and Curl Mist to refresh your curls between washes.
What is inulin and what does it do in a shampoo?
It's a plant-based prebiotic. On hair it acts as a softener: it leaves it smoother and easier to manage without needing silicones.
Why does it contain flaxseed?
Flaxseed gel is a classic among people who care for their curls, because it helps define them. Curl Bath contains flaxseed extract to start the definition from the wash itself.

What is NOT in our products?

What a product leaves out says as much as what it contains. At NUDA:

  • No silicones
  • No parabens
  • No mineral oils (no paraffin, no petrolatum)
  • No microplastics
  • No artificial colorants
  • No drying alcohol (except Dry Bath*)

And the products with ECOCERT COSMOS certification, which is most of our range, also leave out synthetic fragrances.

* Dry Bath is a dry shampoo, and the alcohol is what makes it evaporate in seconds and leave hair dry instantly. It is the only product in the range that contains it.

Every NUDA product contains botanical actives, and we always look for ingredients of natural origin and, where possible, from organic farming. We keep working to make each formula purer than the last.

Why did we choose these ingredients?

Because we believe healthy hair matters as much as good-looking hair. Many products look good on day one because they cover up: silicones that fake softness, mineral oils that fake shine. The good look lasts only until it builds up.

We prefer ingredients that actually work:

  • Chanterelle extract and keratin to add body, instead of silicones that weigh hair down.
  • A rapeseed-derived conditioning agent to detangle and soften, instead of silicones that build up.
  • Ground cherry seed and clay to exfoliate, instead of microplastics.
  • Organic oils instead of mineral oils, like in Vivid Serum, which combines seven different organic oils.
  • Organic black tea and blueberry as antioxidants.
  • Lactic acid to deep clean the scalp without scrubbing.

Every ingredient is listed in full on each product page, so you know exactly what you are putting on your hair.

What certification do our products have?

Most of our range is certified by ECOCERT, an independent body that reviews every formula, every ingredient, and how it is made. If everything meets the COSMOS standard, the product gets the seal. A brand cannot award it to itself.

There are two levels:

  • COSMOS Natural: ingredients of natural origin, and no silicones, parabens, mineral oils, synthetic fragrances, microplastics, or artificial colorants.
  • COSMOS Organic: all of the above, plus a minimum percentage of ingredients from organic farming. The most demanding level.

The COSMOS standard does not only look at ingredients, it also regulates how they are processed and what materials can be used in packaging. Each product page shows whether that product carries the seal and which one, along with its percentage of natural-origin ingredients and the full ingredient list.

Do you use sulfates?

In two of our shampoos, Bloom Bath and Gloss Bath, yes. It's a decision we made after comparing many formulas and testing many shampoos. It might sound like a contradiction for a brand as clean as ours, but this is what we learned:

There's a belief that all sulfates dry out your hair, but we've found that only the harshest ones do. That's why we use Sodium Coco-Sulfate, a cleanser of natural origin that comes from coconut and is approved by the ECOCERT COSMOS standard for certified natural cosmetics. It cleans properly without drying out the hair: it removes the product residue and oil that make hair dull and flat. We pair it with very mild plant-based and amino-acid cleansers, so your hair is left clean, light and soft.

The result is two shampoos that clean properly, with exceptional purity: Bloom Bath has 99% ingredients of natural origin, and Gloss Bath 98%. Both are certified ECOCERT COSMOS Natural.

Are your products vegan?

Many are, and each product page states whether that product is.

The ones that are not, for one reason only: hydrolyzed keratin, which comes from wool. It is the only animal-origin ingredient in our entire range, and we use it in Bloom Bath, Bloom Balm, Deep Mint, Silk Mist, and Rescue Mask.

We could remove it and put a vegan seal on the whole range. We do not, because it is the best ingredient we have found to add body to fine hair and restore strength to damaged hair. We keep looking for plant-based alternatives that work just as well.
